upgrade intercooler ? ? ?

I have a 2000 p/s and was about to do the 6.0 intercooler in 7.3 mod. My question, now, after doing some measuring,is it really going to help. If my figures are correct, there is 1065 cu.in.in the 7.3 and 1216 cu.in. in the 6.0 intercooler. Is this small difference of 152 cu.in. going to make any difference in the cooling of the air from the turbo?
I was going to do this mod based on replies on other forums as an inexpensive way of additional cooling. Really confused, now.
Thanks for your replies.
