They certainly should have. If the IPR screen was intact and not full of metal than the HPOP may not be coming apart. But it also could be, its tough to say. They certainly should have checked the pressures, and done an air leak test to determine if and where any air leaks in the HPO system are.
That metal screen is designed to catch any metal that might come from the HPOP, so if the screen is intact, I find it hard to believe that all 8 injectors have failed due to metal from the HPOP.
