Thanks for the replies. It turns out that the hood spray and the residue was actually Diesel fuel. When I posted the other morning it was just a light coating and the engine temp had burned or cooked it some leading me to thing it was oil again. When I drove it to the dealer that afternoon which was a good distance from work, I pulled in to the service area parked and shut the truck off. Immediately a mechanic walked over having noticed a large puddle and a large drip under my truck. My truck was gushing diesel fuel, upon inspection the mechanic realized (who happens to be the head diesel tech) that one of the pressurized fuel lines entering the fuel filter housing assy. had worked itself loose. He repaired it immediately and had me on my way. It must have just started coming loose that morning when I noticed the smell but, wasn't dripping yet. I hope this wasn't caused by any of the previous repairs my truck has gone through in the last 3 months. Let's see: turbo re-build and intake cleaning (due to "coking") @ 40k mi. plus $1400 for labor. My ESP plan wouldn't cover the labor. Next day EBP sensor failed (tech forgot to replace sensor after a "coking" repair). 3 wks later, turbo lubrication line failed to seal. Oil spray everywhere same tech re-used existing line during "coking" repair, line did not re-seat correctly and finally gave out. Also turbo plastic inlet tube was damaged during re-assy. (same tech). Lub line and inlet tube needless to say were replaced with new ones. Now I wonder how in the "hell" that fuel line could have gotten loose, let me see... Needless to say the service adv. who's been taking care of me this whole time feels terrible with my ordeal and promises to make it up to me in the future. Sorry for the lengthy write up, thought I share how quickly things can get complicated when someone's not taking care of business.
