Have you considered power washing all the areas around where the spill was? Any fluids, oils and etc left in a nook or crany some place could continue to "cook" and cause weird smells for quite a while. My '93 plow truck started smelling better, now that the dead mice that nested in the muffler have finally been completely incinerated!
That was a smell I just could not get used to.
