Changing Fuel Filters

I was going to change my fuel filters this weekend and was wondering is there anything I should know first. Am I right that the one filter is up on top of the engine and the other is down by the water drain on the frame rail? Are any special tools required or anything to watch out for. Also does the system somehow need to be reprimed is there any bleed screws or is it self priming. The owners manual seems to be pretty vague other then the location of the filters. I miss the old days when a owners manual was more like a service manual thanks for any info.
