If you get a new V-10 with 4.33 gears, you won't notice any difference between the pulling power of your 6.4 with 3.73 gears. Yes, maybe a little less fuel mileage, but not by much, and the difference in oil changes, fuel filters, etc, is unreal. I have 48k on my 2008 V-10 and have hauled heavy all over the western states up and down mountains with no effort and I have the standard 4.10 gears. I also have the 18" wheels and like them just fine. The new tow/haul feature is awsome. You'll love the V-10 over the "pain-in-the-ass" diesels, no matter what brand it is. If you get to order a new one, make sure you add the snow plow option for $80, it's worth every penny even if you don't plan on plowing snow.
