Also thank the new eco-friendly anti-corrosion compounds and coatings, paints, etc. While the older vehicles were built with thicker steel, they still would have succumbed if the coatings were not as robust as they used to be.

While that is where many may want to agrue and support the government premse that the new de-icers are no more corrosive, all you have to do is read all the articles from the trucking industry that document the increase in trailer structural and electrical issues since the de-icer introduction.
