If the shop is set up right, there is a plastic guard they can put over the rim when they spoon off the old tire so as not to scratch the wheel. I would have thrown a fit.
...of course, I'm the guy who makes Goodyear put the 'Wingfoot' logo on the tire right above the valve stem so all my tires are mounted the same.
