I am testing a product I picked up at tractor Supply, I think it's called Rust Converter.
I tried it on other equipment and a day after application, rust is turned to a hard black finish that can be sanded and painted over. So I've sprayed it on a few sections under my truck along the frame and trans skid plate. Also along the seam that runs along the bottom, inside of the tailgate. So far all I see there is the hard, black finish.
WARNING: wear eye protection, this stuff really stings and smells pretty agressive too.
As far as Ziebart, in the past I've had areas along the frame start to develope small cracks after a few years. Perfect place to trap salty water.
