So I relented, and took my X into the stealership, and had them do the recall on the cruise control switch... It appeared they only changed the wiring harness.... it took only a couple of minutes...
The mechanic talked me into having the CPS recall done also...He said he had seen a lot of problems with the older ones, and didn't remember having any problems with the newer ones...So we did that also....That took only about 3 minutes for him to do that...
So, then I asked him to check my backup sensor aid....The shut off switch, and alarm were not working, and the light on the switch button was on continually....He got his trusty little computer out , and checked that for me and told me it was the alarm that was burned out....they said the part cost $30, and the total install would be $150 or something...
So, I got the part number from them , and ordered the part for Wabash Ford, for $21+ S&H.....I did the intsall my self in about 15 minutes....I had to pay a total of $30 for all the service, which was for the computer parking aid check
That's the first time my truck has been in a Ford garage in nearly 5 years....
The place was empty....Out of maybe 20 bays, there were 5 vehicles in there....
They want $100 for an oil and lube....I take it over to the 10 Minute Oil change and get it done for $75, with Rotella, NOT Fords oil.....They clean the windows inside and out, vacuum all the littler up, and even give it a walk around top to bottom check...
They'll have 3 or 4 guys working on the car at one time...
Why would I go to Ford for anything that I didn't need too????
