Ext. filter is behind the front bumper on passenger side. Looks like a small aluminum housing with hex on it. Has a toilet paper style filter that needs changing every 15,000 miles. Probably every 10,000 with your prgrammer. Sounds like yours has never been changed. Dealer doesn't do it during flush unless requested. Filter is about 45 at dealer and can be purchased on line for 20.99 + shipping.
