my plan for when i pick up my truck is to get the 5k service plan and the complete ford esp (it will be good piece of mind for me and will extend the mileage out to 100k).
is there any haggle room for these plans? my only concern is that i will 90% purchase from my dealer for sure since i can just roll it into the loan and then i am done, but if the price diff is huge from another source, i will consider that as well (especially if the dealer doesn't budge).

I considered the same plans for the same reasons. After we talked he said it made sense to drop the ESP on warranty and save 2900.00 which over 3 years i could save it back, add the 500.00 and buy that plan then. At current, we get that plan up to 36K anyway, to pay for it again on the first 36, gets you a little better price added in.. but I chose the cheaper payment on what I borrowed. All said and done, I am paying the same price that I paid on my Jeep, which is about 330.00 per month. Going into retirement, it seemed like the right thing to do. I will pay down the equity also to pay less interest ande dissolve this payment sooner. Two years and this truck is paid for.
As far as the maintenance plan, he was able to line item it. It is called premium maintenance package. I went back late last night and found it in the ford maintenance programs. The dealer can give you a better price up front on purchase than he can say after a few years and prior to the end of your 36x36. I opted not to get the extended warranty as i said un til I get close to end of 36x36. why pay for it for the life of the loan when you can save a little bit a month and then slap it down right before the end of the new vehicle warr.
It will cost me about 500 more dollars but I will get up to 100K ...actually more like 64K but it is all covered. and the maintenance plan is still in tact.
