Fleet guys do this all the time, they have places that will analyze oil samples and let you know how the sheer is doing, any contaminants, etc...

I've seen the ams oil filter in action, on a mustang, guy had like 20,000 miles on the oil, it looked brand new out of the bottle and he had his oil sheet to prove everything is ok...

I was amazed..
