Is there a white residue around the degas bottle? With a small coolant loss it could be a lot of things. There is a write up on the net some where detailing how to diagnose a egr failure vs head gasket failure. My truck does consume coolant at times. Generally if I run it really hard it will puke. If I don't run it hard I don't loose coolant. if you were to have a way to check the oil temp and coolant temp at operating temps they should be with in 15* of each other. A partially blocked oil cooler will cause the truck to consume coolant. If not caught early and coolant gets low it is possible to blow the head gaskets.
