Fishy?.
It is a 2006 E450 Ford Super Duty with ForestRiver motor home body.
It did 2000 or so miles in the USA before coming to the UK.
Ford USA have put it in writing that the warranty (100,000mile,5 years) is valid but have no Official agent in UK. After three months they have finally agreed that an independant they have done business with for many years in Mildenhall (250 miles away) can do it, but here is the catch. They want me to pay for the low loader down there ($1750+) pay the agents to remove and strip engine and send back to the USA, pay for the new engine and shipping and installation. (The cost of this in Europe is in excess of$30,000. And THEN in the fullness of time they might agree the engine! The engine let go in the South of France with 5800 miles total on the clock (before it had even reached the first service!)and it has already cost $7000 to recover to UK.A French garage had a quick look , the oil was burnt in the sump and they reckon at least one piston is holed .
Ford Uk say they are embarrased by the poor service and have talked to Ford USA a lot, but neverthe less the truck is still not roadworthy.
