If I thought someone could do it and make it work like factory I would be glad to pay $5000 to get rid of the wonderful automatic and swap in a manual. Jump on the manual if you have a chance. I'd have to say looking back 100 years in cars/trucks, the biggest single disaster has been the auto transmission, and it continues. One "good" thing now is if 4 speeds of junk is not good enough, you can buy a new truck with a 6 speeds of junk auto trans with no option of manual unless Dodge is your choice. In 113,000 miles I've figured my misguided choice of buying the auto against my better judgement has cost me over $10,000 so far. Rant over, you do "NOT" want to convert to automatic unless you don't have a left leg and/or enjoy throwing $1000s of dollars down the toilet for the rest of eternity.
