The early pumps had the anti-drainback valves in the pump. The later ones have it in the front cover. It will work (old cover, late pump), but will drain back causing longer cranking to start. You change to a later front cover (motor has to be pulled) or there is a mod to the older front covers that can be done (I'll have to look for a link), or some have added an accumulator to the system (PM members Nit or Powerstroke2000 unless they chime in on this one). I'm with Bill (get an Adrenaline). Cheers!
