My understanding is that at the first attempt for the 'fix', they just slip in a fusable link ahead of the switch. Then, if the 'problem' persists (as in maybe a bad switch), they will replace the switch.
I don't know if I plan on getting mine done or not, since I haven't received the 'official' piece of mail yet.
