Thanks SmokeyWren. That's very useful information! I was actually playing with the idea of trying to modify an aluminum snowmobile trailer. They are all over the place up here and I always thought they look to be the same size as a flatbed would be on this short bed.

I regularly Rowing shells so the loads aren't that heavy but the bed sides can get a little close with the lower racks on our trailers. Defintiely don't need a steel flat bed.
