With the factory set-up, they are a little tall and wanted to catch on the hood a little. Might not have been a big deal since the hood has that cloth-like insulation on the inside but I didn't want it to become a problem. There is adjustment in the battery holders that you can drop them down further but I think I modified mine so they'd drop a little futher yet. Then I stuck a piece of plywood behind them and hooked them in place with a bungie strap. Like it a whole lot better than the factory set-up and probably one of the best mods I've done. I think I did it four, maybe five years ago. Guess I should add that to my signature.
