Just remind her how much it would cost for a shop to do this work! I know it won't change her mind, because my wife is the same way. It takes a decent amount of tools to maintain any vehicle. With AE you will find it will pay for itself if itcalready hasn't. Plus throwing parts at it would have been way more expensive......like the fuel pump in the begining. Even shops miss on their diagnosis from time to time.
