ZombieT....how much do you tow and where? It would seem your ride is set up for towing and if so I would keep the stocker fan on....and just run w/o in the winter...Both my trucks have e-fans my '96 design is removable but just the same a hassle and if you tow a bunch there is nothin' like the B52 prop out front to cool things down. If not that much a E-system will work.
As a suggestion I used to run K&N and they are a good product just make sure you're on the maintanence...used to find small dust film on the intake upstream of filter...switched to donaldson paper no dust film....anyways I think I have some pix of the twin E-fans Taurus set up in my pix in truck folder....just for ideas...
