Thanks for you efforts CDNS, but there's also a significant difference in rubber gasket size in addition to thread size. Gonna call WIX on Monday and see what they can come up with.

The stock water sep isn't leaking at the moment, but I'm sure will start leaking again once I hit a few bumps on the road. Played with the control cable a little and it apparently seated the close-valve adequately for now.

Still, I'll probably end up just installing a hose with pet**** valve on the stock water sep (underneath the drivers seat on an E350!) and drain occasionally. Also gonna see about restoring/replacing the O-ring on top of the water sep before it starts to let air in as well. Interesting to see if the stock water warning light in the dash still works!

P.S. At least the 6.9L fuel filters are CHEAP!
