What if I have already modfied my vehicle? Will a chip cause you to fail this? Larger exhaust? etc? What a PITA this whole thing is gonna be.
I read through some of it. Essentially anything under 14,000 GVW. Not CVW. GRV.

It seems as though as long as the mods have a carb approval sticker on them it is ok.

I am in hopes that if the mod does not have a carb approval and it can be turned off for road use that as long as it is turned off it is allowed. After all, if the chip, such as I have in my Ex- A TS Performance 6 bank chip- is set to the oem setting then it should be allowed. After all, if it for "off road use only" then you should be allowed to turn it on "off-road" and turn it off "on-road".

I am concerned about the subjectiveness of the observer when it comes to the visible smoke. After all, all diesels smoke from one extreme to another. The fact that there is smoke may be an issue.

If we had an organization like the gun owners have, the NRA, we would have an organization to fight this.

When the original gun bans came along they were thrown out because they were not specific enough in the definitions. This has long been retified. But the subjectiveness of the observed smoke rule should be taken to court and thrown out for it's lack of specifics and the lack of non-subjective equipment to take appropriate readings for evaluation.

This aspect of this law must be fought. But, I have to guess that we as individules do not have the resources to do so. Just because an inspection station says there is too much smoke will only require us to, either, spend monies on changing the amount of smoke being exhausted -OR- work your way up the bureaucratical line. After all. Since it is subjective, everyone may agree and, yet, if there is no scientific baseline to make the determination.....

No, this law, or at least this part of the law, is going to be trouble. At least for us. Especially if you get some liberal bureaucrat, or bureaucrats, who does not believe in diesels. Someone who sees the vagueness of this law to micro manage the masses. To push their own liberal, overbearing, controling, agenda.

Like some Borg minion who will quote to us, "Resistance is futile- you shall be assimilated".
