I doubt that it will drop that much. There is only roughly 5% difference in RPM's between the two. So maybe that could be 0.5-0.7mpg's. However, the engine will be working less with a slightly lower gear by 5%. Therefore less fuel. The bottom line is that I wouldn't worry about it. That extra 5% torque to the wheels could be nice to have.
