I would assume the coolant hits the tee fitting and goes into the radiator to replace what was pulled from the heater connection. Is there some reason why it wouldn't?

Hey MikeL46, glad to see you got that coolant filter installed...a PIA it is for sure. Our res. bottles are different than the pickups and appear to be multi-chambered so you can't look inside with the cap off and see any coolant flow back in. On one occasion, I was able to see coolant flow back into the bottle b/c I could just barely see it running down the inside of the bottle by looking from the outside. I would just grab the return line hose and make sure it's hot.
BTW, I've changed out my first filter (after about 700 miles) and poured what I could from the old filter into a clear plastic bottle. There was a bunch of "stuff" (looks like sand) that settled at the bottom of the bottle. I'm going to cut open the filter at some point.
