it could be the EGR, it sounds like coolant is building up in the manifold and then being burned off(white smoke). The coolant plugging up the manifold will cause the truck to seem sluggish, you can have it to the floor and rpms will be super high but no take off, seems like forever to get to 30 from a take off. Take the valve out and check to see if its wet.
