Done.....almost. It still needs paint and a hi-lift jack mount and it will be done. I wanted to drive with it and use it before I paint it so I could modify it. I didn't get any progress pictures but it was pretty straight forward. The only thing I would not do again would be the receiver hitch. I purchased one from Harbor Freight and the 2x2 that fits in the vehicle receiver had tooooooo much play in it. I had already built around it so when I cut that piece off and added the same 2x2 that I built the unit from it fit much better. I would just weld a receiver tube underneath a piece of 2x2 and built around it. This is going to work but it would look much better the other way.
Please don't laugh to hard when you look at the pictures, this was a rough draft but serves it purpose and with paint I think it would look much better.
In the first picture you can't really see it but the driver side tail light is completly visable if you are directly behind me.
I had the 2x2 already so that didn't cost me anything.
The receiver tube extension was about $20.00 (use weld on next time)
Latch from MSC direct $53.47 shipped. 2,000 lbs. claping force
Hinge was a 3 point 1 1/8 hitch pin from Tractor Supply $3.94
Just a little cheaper than one that you could buy online
