Re: Anyone know what the cell phone harness does?
[ QUOTE ]
I have found the PIE system. Has anyone used or seen this kit? Is it worth the money?

Most people purchase the auxiliary input adapter that want to have an audio direct into the stereo for say XM radio, laptop MP's,IPOD's,etc.
$69(with 21 day return policy)isn't all that bad considering you plug it in on the back of the stereo then connect the audio source,I'd say it carries good value

Does anyone know what the Ford factory part called: Hands-free cell phone prep harness does? Does it provide a connection to the radio?

I haven't seen this kit yet but by referring to the schematic for the audio connector on the back of the stock stereo it seems very similar to the PIE but only like around $50 before taxes/shipping.
The prep harness should allow you to hear the phone auto through the truck's speakers according to the schematic.
Sounds like a recon to the Ford dealer Parts counter to get a looksee of the prep harness
