Re: Overdrive downshift,, can it be delayed???
just a couple above CRAP!!
Running up the Dekalb IL Tuesday fighting some awesome winds all the way (400 miles), 29* and running winter fuel I averaged 11-12 and that sucked!
Coming back no wind, dragging an 84 250 4x4 diesel on a dolly, 22* I averaged the same.
Usualy I get about 14.5 miles and have gotten 15.5 once over the 2 tanks,,,,, I hear all these 18-20 miles but I personaly don't know anyone getting that.
My dad gets 16.5 out of his 02 club cab (not crew) long bed 4x4 250 and I believe him.
My friend has the same truck as my dad in an 00 and gets 14-15 and I know his is correct.
Sometimes I wonder if these high mpg's are from not knowing the correct math or just estimated.
My 98 Beetle turbo diesel (TDI) gets 42 regular and has gotten 46,,,, NOW THOSE ARE SOME NUMBERS TO SMILE ON and I think they can be improved.
