I don't know which year it started, but my 97 has split shot injectors (calif) and can make a bit more power from the stock parts with a chip. New injectors in a single shot will do way better though. No negatives that I am aware of (maybe less rust?) Good luck, and check out Steve Baz's website before you buy.
