I am not sure about a SD fitting a 97. I do know a 96-97 will work on a 95. So I imagine a 95 would work on a 97 also. There are a few differences, but they are minor. One is the heater hose fitting is difference. The 96-97 takes an O-ring where as the 95 is screw in. And the bottom of the pump is two pieces on the 96-97 where as the 95 is one piece. Maybe someone else can help you with the SD question.
