While expensive, you can also upgrade to the International Pump with an integral coolant filter. There are some threads with good descriptions of this, but until I can search the archives I can't get them for you. Maybe someone has a write-up

Anyone have a write-up on the IH pump swap? My pump started leaking today and I need to replace it. Hard to find much information with the archive search down..

Powerstrokeshop.com lists the 95-96 pump and list a different one for 97 and it is a little cheaper. I have the longer stat in my 1996 so I suppose if I go with a Ford pump I should order the 97' pump to get the right one?
