Re: Air Filter Quesiton

[ QUOTE ]
I know there was recently a post on the stock air filter, but I have searched for it to no avail. I just got my filters in from Filter1, and would yall please give me some feedback regarding the Wix air filter. Is it okay to use with regards to performing just like the stock one? I remember a gentleman that posted about the stock one and he was the engineer that had a hand in it.

I believe you are referring to jflagstad. He may chime in here himself, but as I understand it, the WIX filter is OK to use unless you're operating in a high carbon (soot) environment (lots of smoke?). The WIX I have is branded with "PowerCore" logo, and the only difference is that it has the white media instead of the blue like the Ford OEM element uses. The diff being that the white media has a slightly lower dust loading ability and doesn't handle high soot environments as well. The blue color is supposedly the Ultrafiber layer or whatever they call it.
