I was wondering if the only model year you can actually drain the converter on is the '03s. Does anyone know?

Ford stopped installing drain plugs in late 2001, so you can't drain the converter on the '03s, either.

You could modify the intructions in the faq to flush the trans. Instead of removing the line from the trans remove the remote filter near the radiator and drain it there.

Make sure the trans is well warmed up before starting the procedure.
