Re: Where is the Cummins engine??? 6.4?

[ QUOTE ]
The reason the Cummins rumor never dies is because people WANT TO believe it. Ford builds an excellent truck, but these IH engines are junk. There is no doubt in my mind that the Ford marketing guys read these forums. How many times do they have to read "Sick Litre" and "Ford owns Cummins" to get the message that we want a good, reliable straight six engine in these trucks ?

I'm tired of V8 diesels. If Ford thinks I am going to buy a largely untested twin turbo 6.4L V8 diesel in 2007, they've got another thing coming. I'm taking this issue into my own hands...

Have you noticed how Cummins brags about their engine testing when they release an engine ? They say things like "tested for 4000 hours at WOT". I never hear IH making the same claims. Hmmm.... makes ya think...

Not all are dieing for a Cummons. I could care less. They all have problems. But IH makes awesome engines. It is what Ford does to them after. I beleive DCX buys not only the engine but the electricle harness from Cummons? I dont know. The problem is that Ford takes over once the engine is built and should have let IH do the electrical as well.

To say IH is junk is uneducated at best.

Tired of v8 diesels? THough you dont own any? Regardless, just how many non V8 diesels are there out there? I believe that the huge majority are V8. I6 are made by Cummons and almost no one else. Would love to see commons come out with a V8. Would shut up you Cummons guys...for the most part.

Your not buying Ford diesels anyway, so what do you care about the 6.4?

I beleive they all have extrenuous testing and go 250k to 300k before major overhauls are needed. I dont think the cummons is sleeved anymore either is it?

Peace
