Re: Where is the Cummins engine??? 6.4?

I do not care how many cylinders it has. To me the point is to operate 400,000 miles without a rebuild or overhaul, to haul pretty good, to accelerate pretty good and to wake my neighbors when I start it first time every time at 4:30 A.M. on January 5 when it is 30 G.D. degrees below zero. It also has to stay on the road. I can't use it when it is in the shop, warranty or no warranty.

Ford seems to have lost the knack. Hopefully they will get it back soon. I am hoping that the new 6.4L will not be so great a departure that Ford has to repeat the tortures of the 2003 days to get a dependable engine into production. But if that takes the elogance and simplicity of a straight 6 why should I care?
