Jet A is almost identical to Diesel #1 and kerosine. That's why you lost MPG - just like you would lose MPG with Diesel #1 or winter blend compared to straight Diesel #2.

Yes, Jet A is "dry" and needs a lubricity additive. Stanadyne makes a good one. http://www.dieselpage.com/add3.htm
