I personally know of four that have melted down. Another problem is the un reinforced plastic tubing that they use that will rupture spewing hot oil all over the place.
Hell, for 3K, I will build you a nice $500 appleseed system. Any takers? [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif[/img]

I agree that the appleseed is better.


No one saying that the plastic cones are the preferred method. Just not LOADS of the FM"s burning up. Unsupported statements like that could get you sued. Factual info, that's all.

MY buddy wanted to buy a FM. WHY??? Because he didn't think he has the knowledge to build one himself. IT was just easier to buy a complete system.

I introduced him to my other friend who is big into processing. He helped him build a system.
