I wouldn't turn yourself in just yet. There are two versions of that device. One that was released in 1982, and one that came out in 1987. The earlier unit is luminosity probe only. The later unit came with the pulse sensor adapter. I've used them both, and either method can be very hit or miss with this meter. If you can get it to give you a decent reading, your in good shape. If the timing value is all over the place, and you have a hard time dialing it in.... well, you'll understand why the Snap-On meter is more popular.
