Re: Turbo Hose blew off again!
I think he's talking about the turbo side and not the CAC. I had the boot between the turbo and IC tube replaced 2 weels ago. Mine looked bad enough I bought a spare boot to keep in the truck just in case. Last trip back home towing the boat, a day before my appointment wiht the dealer, I heard a lot of air noise under boost and knew what it was. I got lucky and the boot just ripped (it was pinched under the clamp) so I made it home and to the dealer fine.
Interesting enough, the bluw boot cost me $91. As I dropped the truck off, I brought the boot back to the parts counter and got a refund. I'm just glad mine didn't blow ot blow off.
I'd clean it good, then make sure when it goes back on, the ridge on the inside of the boot is set right on the turbo so it holds. Get the clamp on in the right place and don't over tighten it.
If it's been reinstalled correctly like that, I'd take it in for a new one.
