Something very interesting for all 6.0L owners to read...
I have been meaning to post this info since Friday but haven't had a chance until now.
A friend of mine called me on friday early afternoon to tell me that a friend of his saw a local tow truck towing a F350 dully with a gooseneck race trailer in tandem... It wasn't wrecked so he figured it had something to do with the 6.0L engine. It turns out that it went to my local Ford garage that my friends father ownes that called me about it.
A little while later he calls again to tell me that his dad just called him and he had additional information about the truck. It turns out to be a Roush Racing truck & trailer with Danny O'Quinn Jr. drives that was on its way to the Busch race this weekend in New Hampshire. He was supposed to be there by midnight friday and that wasn't going to happen since the HPOP is what went out on his truck. This is not the first time this has happened on this truck either according to the driver.
A few hours later my friend calls me back again to ask me if I know of anyone with a gooseneck hitch that can haul a 44' race trailer to New Hampshire? He continues to tell me that they can't get the truck done even though they stayed till almost 8PM friday to try to get the truck back on the road. It turns out that both myself and my friend has a gooseneck hitch, but he was in FL and I was in WI so neither one of us were able to help out.
We were able to find out that Roush Racing in a whole has 61 of these trucks and ALL of them have the 6.0L and ALL of them have had problems like this specific truck.
I just don't understand why Ford would put a motor out like this that has all of these problems. I mean just this example alone did not allow the actual race car that was supposed to be in the race yesterday, they ended up using a back-up car for the race. That just doesn't say much for Ford at all. I'm almost in the same boat since I have my own business transporting cars and my truck must be dependable to get the customers car to them when I tell them its going to be there. I am a Ford lover especially sine myself and my parents own 11 Fords currently, but I am about to change from my 2006 F550 especially since I am going to try to get them to buy it back because of all the problems that I have had with my truck.
Just thought you all would like to know this info. I will be going in the morning to the dealership to get a couple of photos of the truck & trailer.
