My first 3-bedroom house in the suburbs cost me $9,995 in 1965. It was only a year-or-so old. That same year I bought a brand new '65 Corvette Stingray coupe for $3,650. The car had only two options: 4-speed manual tranny and Positraction. Yes, Virginia, back then a 3-speed stick was standard on a Corvette. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif[/img] Base price MSRP was $4,250, but I got a good deal direct from GM's overseas division that sold to military personnel returning home from overseas.
