Yes you can check the injectors. With the engine running, crack open the injector line nuts (5/8" wrench) on top of the injectors one at a time. When the knock goes away you have located the cylinder.
Now here's the thing, this will take away the knock whether it's a loose rod bearing or a bad injector. You need to swap the injector for a known good one to see if the knock follows the injector or not.
Personally I would buy a new set of injectors and an injector install kit before moving around injectors. The reason is that once you take off the fuel return caps to move the injectors, the O-rings will leak fuel.
It's a leap of faith to buy new parts, but a faulty injecotr is much more likely than a bad rod bearing.
