+6000 Mile towing trip with a 6.0 and.....

Not a dang thing happened.

Springs on my 4runner took a crap and I had to spend 6 hours and $372 in Flagstaff to get them fixed (Thanks American Springs!!!!) and I shredded one trailer tire, probably destroying two 3500 lb trailer axles in the process (I was on a gravel road west of Pyramid Lake, NV and didn't see the shredded tire, oh well).

The 6.0? Boring. Purred like a kitten the whole way, whether it was 125 degrees in Death Valley or going up Red Mountain Pass (11018 feet elevation) towards Silverton, it didn't miss a beat. Towing milage was probably at least 5500 miles (6500 lbs on the axles according to CAT scales). The only thing that passed me was unloaded Rams or other 6.0's.

Have no clue what the mileage was due to the extensive use of my 90 gallon aux tank (only filled up in Amarillo TX, Gallup NM, Fernley NV (twice) and Corinth MS and haven't refilled the tank yet.

For the 6.0 haters, sorry to disappoint you.

I'll post a vacation "By the Numbers" summary later.

Al
