new noise that i can't trace

i have noticed in the last few weeks that i am getting a new noise. it sounds like something rotating (or possibly metal against metal rubbing) that isn't lubricated, sort of a metal on metal chirping. it is most noticable under very light load at any speed. when you take your foot off the gas pedal it drops off to nothing. it is also temp related, because you don't hear it until the truck is up to temp. barely hear it at idle, and it seems like it only has 2 frequencies, depending on if your foot is on the throttle or not. we just did a long trip and i noticed it more when i was in the passenger seat. it is rather annoying to me, althought my wife thinks i am crazy. i am guessing it is a belt driven accessory?? any experience or ideas???
