took it in this am for 5000k 'free' service. told them about the noise and the HPOP quick connect. 1/2 hour later service advisor said i was all set and that the noise was coming from resonance in the performance exhaust that i installed. we talked a bit more then i got with the tech that serviced the truck. he was hearing the same noise as me, but it seems as though the service manager never told him what i had passed on. he went into the computer and low and behold existed a TSB describing what was going on exactly was we were finding. hooked up to diagnostics and changed the oil pressure at idle, put the stethoscope on it, and sure enough new parts are now on order....
sure beats being left dead in the water somewhere.....
