Re: Diesel fuel vs 2007 6.0

[ QUOTE ]
I stopped for fuel weekend and saw a sign on the pump that read "Low Sulphur, it is unlawful to use this fuel in any 2007 highway engine." Whats this all about?

[/ QUOTE ]

Its been beat to death a few times here & other places.

Low Sulpher Diesel (LSD - <500PPM) is currently on the market as standard #2 diesel. They are currently in the processs of cutting over to ULSD nation wide.

In Jan 07, all diesel available for retail sale will be Ultra Low Sulpher Diesel (ULSD - <15PPM).

ULSD can be used in any diesel on the road. Use of LSD in an engine designed for ULSD will damage the engine and its smog devices. In a Ford, that means any 6.9, 7.3 or 6.0 can use LSD or ULSD interchangablly. Use of LSD in a (yet to be released 6.4 - MY 2008 / Jan 07), will damage the engine. Use ONLY ULSD in it (when it gets here).
