Re: Diesel fuel vs 2007 6.0

I was reading that also. Does anyone know when they are suppose to get all of these new fuel supplied to everyone? I imagine the change over will be a PITA for some places.

As of June 1, 80% of all #2 diesel refined in the US had to be to ULSD spec. By September 1, 80% of all #2 at terminals has to be ULSD spec, and by October 15 at retail stations.

There has been ULSD in some parts of most pipelines since June, but by the time it gets to the pump the sulphur content is much higher, since the ULSD picks up residual sulphur from inside the pipe. Fuel leaving the entering the pipeline at 10ppm arrives at the terminal with 5 or 10 times that much sulphur. What we're getting now is somewhere between ULSD and LSD.

Ask anyone in Colorado if the changeover isn't a PITA.
