Redundancy... airplanes got it and folks love it.... spaceships got it and astronauts love it..... give it to a truck driver and he will get confused...
Nastiness aside... there's millions and millions of dollars that goes into designing one of these trucks.... With corporate and shareholders clamouring for increased earnings, you can pretty well be that, if a feature is there, it is there for a specific reason.... if a device is there, it is there for a specific reason....
No need for confusion.... if the reasoning escapes the consumer, a simple, direct question can be answered.....
FWIW, many with little experience will couch their question to avoid looking like they have little experience - usually winds up messy....
